The Metropolitan Hotel is located close to the centre of Reykjavik on a quiet side street yet within walking distance of the harbour and all the sights, shopping, restaurants and nightlight that the city has to offer.
The 31 rooms, from single to family size, are simply furnished and comfortable. Adequately spacious, the rooms have a TV and modern bathrooms with showers. Wireless internet connections are available at a reasonable hourly rate. The four-storey hotel has a 24-hour reception desk with friendly, helpful staff. There is luggage storage but no parking due to its central city location. Breakfast is provided and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby for other meals.
