Short introduction to the Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir
The Hotel Loftleidir is a modern luxury hotel which has recently been tastefully renovated to a high standard. Just 20 minutes walk or a five minute Complimentary city centre shuttle ride will deliver guests to the centre of Reykjavik. The hotel is five-minutes from the popular warm-water bathing beach at Nautholsvik and it is surrounded by wooded walks. As well as offering excellent conference facilities, it is one of the few hotels with a swimming pool. It also has a sauna and fitness room, a hair salon, tourist ticket desk, bicycle rental, a shop, restaurant and bar. Breakfast is served in the Lon restaurant which is well known for its fine cuisine at lunchtime and in the evening.
The Loftleidir has 220 rooms which are comfortably furnished and include WiFi internet access. Satellite TV, a hairdryer, refrigerator and a trouser press can be found in every room, along with tea and coffee-making facilities. The themed rooms are also popular with guests who appreciate poetry and art. The hotel welcomes children and is happy to add children’s beds to double rooms and even provides a welcome teddy bear to hug, and toys on loan from reception.
This is a hotel by Reykjavik Airport (BIRK). Reykjavik airport is mainly a domestic airport and is not a high traffic one. This hotel is very often used by private jet pilots and owners that stop by and overnight on their way over the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of Reykjavik´s oldest and biggest hotels. The Flybus service between Hotel Loftleidir Reykjavik and Keflavik Airport is co-ordinated with international flight departures and arrivals.
