This luxury boutique hotel is a member of Design Hotels and is enviably located in the heart of Reykjavik, close to the opera and national theatre. Its well-respected owner and designer is Ingibjörg S. Pálmadóttir who has creatively decorated the Hotel 101 and filled it with contemporary Icelandic artworks. The hotel has just 38 rooms including 5 suites and all have a minimalist décor with delightful marble bathrooms and walk-in showers. Guest amenities include free high speed internet access, satellite TV, DVD player, bathrobes, minibar, iPod docking stations and underfloor heating. Some deluxe rooms enjoy fireplaces, antique-style soaking bathtubs and striking monotone black and white décor.
Although small, this boutique hotel has a gym with jacuzzi and steam bath and massages can be booked. The hotel has a small, fully-equipped conference room. It also has an excellent in-house restaurant and a popular 101 lounge bar with music making it a great place to spend the weekend.
